Lumi Photography

We are a small independent photography team consisting of Ivan and Emily, we are based in South West London and Surrey but travel all over the country, wherever the photography takes us. We are both friendly and down to earth, good humoured and bring a creative approach combined with attention to detail. We both have a passion for travel, the natural world, and anything photography. We started Lumi to combine our talents together, we are not a large company, but a small team rich in experience with a passion for capturing memorable moments.

We find that our photography is is all about the people, we wouldn't be here without you coming together to celebrate a special occasion, whether it is a wedding or a company function, we are here to capture the emotion and moments. Events are about celebration, we pay attention to detail and listen to you making sure we know what you want from us and we will always strive to go the extra mile wherever we can. Our aim is to have the photography covered, so that you can relax in full confidence that beautiful images are being captured right from start to finish.

We have a distinct creative style, with a focus on a documentary approach which allows us to capture the spirit of the event, raw emotion of the people and atmosphere. No event is the same and each has a different feel, and we hand tailor the photography to each event, bringing professional crisp results for every occasion.

We have a passion for wedding photography and we also cover a wide variety of events from corporate to personal, and we also offer portraiture, family and couple photography. Have a look at the information about each on the website. If you have any questions,  please get in touch for more information.

About Ivan

So, whats there to say about me? I’m an explorer at heart and love to travel and discover the natural world, I enjoy hiking the outdoors, and I try to break away over winter to go into the snow to go snowboarding. That is where my photography journey began by picking up a camera many years ago to capture the details whist travelling. I quickly realised how much I loved photography and have been on a path to develop my skills in a wide variety of photography subjects and its taken me to places I have not expected to be. Im easy going, enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. So here I am, many years later, after photographing many weddings and events, having discovered that natural journalistic photography that captures the moment and tell a story is what I enjoy to do.

Its been a pleasure to work with Emily over the years, there is a great balance between us and we make a great team when working together, so it brings me great joy to form Lumi together.

About Emily

I first picked up a camera when I was quite young, and enjoyed taking pictures around the farm where I grew up. I went on to study photography in London as a part of my degree, and after graduating I took up a position at Nikon at their photography training centre in central London. Here I coordinated and assisted on the delivery of photography workshops. I then began my journey into being a full time freelance photographer, capturing a wide variety of weddings and events around the UK. I also works as a consultant for TimeLine Events, a photography events company specialising in photography experiences. When I am not photographing weddings, I am coordinating and delivering photography workshops and experience days and love inspiring other photographers to try new things and improve their skills.

As a photographer I believe it is really important to be able to adapt to any situation, every moment is different and requires your careful and creative attention. Flexibility is always a good characteristic – and I have certainly found myself in some interesting places in order to ‘get that shot’! I will always go the extra mile, if its important to you then its even more important for me to capture it. Experience is vital and one of the most valuable assets in any industry. Experience has taught me to be in the right place at the right time, to know when to press that button for that perfect shot.
